The middle of April, I have an upcoming birthday for a friend here in town and decided to use the “Painted Poppies” Stamp set to create a card. She loves flowers and her favorite color is yellow, so I knew I wanted to incorporate that in the design. After rumaging through my stash of designer series papers and die cuts, basically this is exactly what I had envisioned for my card.

My color palette for this card is Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Basic White. I chose the “happy birthday” greeting from the “Country Birdhouse” stamp set. The inside greeting from this same set says, “hoping you have the best.day.ever.” I found a sheet of 6×6 Gingham DSP in Daffodil Delight and cut it down to 2″ x 5.25″ to help anchor the lower portion of the card. I stamped the floral image on one of the stitched scalloped rectangles from the “Stitched So Sweetly” Dies. This panel was wrapped with “Black Twine”, corner to corner and tied off with a bow. I placed “Dimensionals” on the back of this panel before attaching it to the Basic Black layer. To add more yellow, I chose to color the flowers with Daffodil Delight “Blends”. Personally, I think this card has just enough yellow and a pop of black!
For finishing touches, I applied “Wink of Stella” Glitter Brush to the flower centers. Lastly, I added two of the “Brushed Brass Butterflies” from my stash. My apologies for using mostly retired products on this project, but I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my “pre-order” for the upcoming May catalog. In my next post, I hope to share with you the beautiful NEW 2026-2028 “In Colors”. These NEW “In Colors” are a great addition to our current color offerings. The NEW “In Colors” are: Barely Blush, Crisp Cantaloupe, (a returning In Color), Hydrangea Hue, Golden Glow and Peaceful Pine.
Before I forget, Stampin’ Up! has updated the “Last Chance” Products with lots of great items and price reductions. Keep in mind, these items are only available until inventory runs out. Don’t miss your opportunity to snag some great deals!

Anita, I love everything about this card! The colors, the layout, the flowers-really pretty. (So glad I still have poppy stamp set!). Thanks for sharing
