My previous post, HERE, I used the “Sunflower Embossing Folder” with a direct to paper ink technique. For this next card, I also used the direct to paper ink technique, but chose to apply the ink to the “debossed” side of my panel. It’s quite interesting how applying the ink on either the “embossed” or “debossed” side can yield totally different looks!

Sunflower Embossing Folder!

For my folded cardbase, I used Crushed Curry. The other colors in my palette are Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Early Espresso and a small touch of Pumpkin Pie on the flower centers. Just as I did on my previous card, I drug the ink pad over the “debossed” side of my panel. I started with the lightest color, Crumb Cake, followed by Pecan Pie and Early Espresso. “Stampin’ Blends” in Daffodil Delight were used to color in the recessed areas on the petals and Old Olive was used for the leaves. For the flower centers, I used “Sponge Daubers” to apply the Pumpkin Pie ink.

I stamped the greeting in Old Olive ink and then die cut with a stitched rectangle from the “Nested Essentials Dies”, found in the Annual Catalog, p. 107. Next, I cut a slightly larger panel in Old Olive to layer under the Crushed Curry greeting layer. I used the “Mossy Meadow and Gold 1/4″ Trim” from the On-Line Exclusives wrapped corner to corner and then knotted. This ribbon added some subtle texture along with a touch of bling. I must say, this double sided ribbon is absolutely beautiful! Lastly, I placed the greeting on “Dimensionals” before mounting on my card front. This card is truly striking IRL!

A Final Note: As I was completing my post, I saw that the “Sunflower Embossing Folder” is “currently unavailable”. If you click on this product, you will see a box to add your email address and Stampin’ Up! will notify you when the item becomes available! Happy Stamping!
