For one of my “other” Christmas cards this year, I chose to use an easy card creation using 6X6 DSP. I had a few sheets of DSP left from the past year (or two). I cut the DSP into 6X6 squares and from there was able to make four (4) cards with each piece. As described in my previous post HERE, I made more than one Christmas card design. This is one of the “other” cards I created this year.

Easy Christmas Card with 6X6 DSP!

For these cards, I chose Real Red and Garden Green for my color palette. As a result, I chose to let the DSP determine which colors I used. For the background, I used a retired “Jumbo Roller Wheel” to create the appearance of texture on my card. I stamped the greeting in Real Red and then die cut with a tag shape from the “Tailored Made Tags”. Then I tied the tag with two (2) pieces of ribbon. The White sequins are from the “Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio” pack.

Most importantly, for this card making process, the first step is to cut the 6X6 DSP into four (4) equal squares that are 3X3. There are several options for cutting the 3X3 DSP for your cards. For each of these options, I used a “mat” to place the DSP on. Here are the cutting options:

  • Option 1: Cut into three (3) strips that measure 1″ x 3″
  • Option 2: Cut in to four (4) squares that measure 1.5″ x 1.5″
  • Option 3: Cut the 3X3 DSP diagonally to make two (2) triangles

Cards with “Joy of Christmas” DSP

Below are pictures of four (4) Christmas Cards I created with the “Joy of Christmas” DSP. For these cards, I chose to use Real Red, Garden Green and Shaded Spruce.

All four (4) of the “greetings” are from the “Christmas Classics” Bundle. To complete each card, I added an embellishment of either ribbon OR “Iridescent Rhinestones”. In conclusion, this was truly a simple way to create quick and easy cards!
