One of the product suites I chose to purchase from the September – December Mini Catalog was the “Joy of Christmas Suite”. I love that I can interchange images and die cuts from both “bundles” to create different card layouts! HERE is my previous creation with this suite of products!
For this particular card, I used a piece of the “Joy of Christmas” DSP in the green plaid as my starting point. I cut the DSP at a slight angle before layering the DSP on to a Basic White rectangle. I believe this is a CASE of a card I saw on “DOstamping’s” blog, with a few slight changes. Honestly, this card couldn’t have been any easier to create! I colored the “foliage” with “Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Blends” along with “Real Red Blends”. I added two “leaf” die cuts from the “Christmas Classics Dies” with “Multipurpose Liquid Glue” before adding my greeting.
For the bow, I used a piece of “1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon” in Sweet Sorbet. Before tying the bow, I colored the Woven Ribbon with my Real Red Blends. I used the “Banners Pick A Punch” for the flag ends on the greeting panel. The “bow” was attached with a glue dot to the back of the greeting banner. I added “Dimensionals” to the back of the banner before layering on to the card front. One last detail was to add “Wink of Stella Glitter Brush” to the red berries for a subtle shimmer. Truly a super cute and easy card using the “Joy of Christmas Suite”!
With so many fabulous NEW sets in the September to December Mini Catalog, the “Joy of Christmas Suite” of products was at the top of my list to order! This suite of products really coordinates super well and it was hard to only pick a few items to work with. This is my first “simple” creation using the “Christmas Classics” Dies and some images from the “Joy of Noel” stamp set.
For my color palette, I chose Real Red, Garden Green, Basic White and Gold. I used Garden Green for the delicate foliage frame. For a good clean cut, I made sure to run the die through my Cut & Emboss Machine several times. I stamped the small leaf pattern in Real Red across the top and bottom of Red card stock. This created a subtle tone-on-tone effect. I stamped the NOEL letters in Real Red ink. After I die cut the letters, I attached them to the focal square with glue dots. Dimensionals would have lifted the letters too much. Basically, I chose to fold the glue dots in half to raise the letters just slightly.
Lastly, to complete this card, I used a narrow “Gold 1/8″ Ribbon” bow and several of the Gold “Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins”. This narrow ribbon is found in the on-line store and comes with two spools, one Gold, one Silver. Absolutely loving the “Joy of Christmas” Suite of products. What a simple card, and the foliage frame is truly eye catching!
