Yesterday, I finally found some time to create with the “Patchwork Pieces Dies”, once more. I chose to work with the “Countryside Inn DSP”. This collection of Designer Series Papers features several shades of “blues”, Balmy Blue, Boho Blue, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. I used two different patterns and cut both pieces of DSP with one of the Patchwork Pieces Dies. The goal was to design the cards with different orientations, one in portrait, the other in landscape.
Portrait version with Patchwork Pieces Dies
Basically, after die cutting both pieces of DSP, I alternated the two patterns and was able to create two different cards. The above card uses Misty Moonlight as the card base and a “Decorative Circle” Punch in Boho Blue. I used the “hello there” greeting from the “Around the Bend” stamp set along with a stitched circle die from a retired set and the retired “2” Circle Punch”. To complete this card I added three of the Boho Blue“2023-2025 In Color Dots” along with a knotted piece of “Night of Navy 3/8” Bordered Ribbon“.
Patchwork Pieces in Landscape
I chose to design the second card in a landscape layout. First, I stamped a strip of Boho Blue card stock with Night of Navy flowers . Those flowers are from the “Sentimental Park” stamp set. Then, I die cut a stitched banner shape from Boho Blue card stock with the “Stylish Shapes” dies. The “Happy Birthday” greeting is from the “Artistically Inked” stamp set. I cropped both ends of the white card stock with the “Banners Pick a Punch”. I did use Misty Moonlight “Tinsel Gems” as an accent along with a “White Baker’s Twine” bow to complete the card.
Both cards were pretty simple as the “Countryside Inn DSP” did most of the work. However, I did crop my folded card base down to 5.5″ x 4″. This created a more “even” border around the rectangle shape created by the “Patchwork Pieces” dies.

This past weekend, I participated in a “Christmas in July” event here in Gatesville, Texas. I spent the past few weeks creating items to sell for this event. I sold Greeting Cards, Gift Card Holders, Mini Composition Books, Corner Bookmarks and “Lemonade Matchbooks“. The gracious owner, Debi, of “Pennoli B&B” in town, allowed several vendors without a store front to set up at her B&B. The event had decent foot traffic and a good time was had by all! I must admit, it certainly is HOT here in Texas! We are looking at temps hitting 100+ for at least the next ten days!
Very excited that the upcoming September-December Mini Catalog with lots of holiday products is just around the corner! I promise to get back in to my craft room very soon. But first, I need to tidy up the mess I made these past few weeks!
