Love Cats for Valentine’s Day!

I could not resist the “Love Cats” stamp set as both of my daughter’s have cats for pets. Below is the card I made to send to them for for Valentine’s Day. Previously, I made THIS card for my hubby for Valentine’s Day.

I chose Sweet Sorbet, Basic Black and Basic White for this cute Valentine’s card. Tried to keep this card fairly simple, but wanted to add some “texture” to step it up a bit. I used the “Cane Weave 3D” Embossing Folder on a portion of the folded card base. Also to add more texture, I used the “Stitched Rectangles” Dies layered on a piece of Basic Black card stock as the focal point. Before attaching this layered panel to the card with dimensionals, I added a piece of Sweet Sorbet Baker’s Twine.

The small hearts on the Basic White layer came from one of the other “cat” stamp images. Using the “omitting” technique, I inked up (with markers) the 3 hearts and randomly stamped them on the white background. I am considering cutting the three hearts apart from the cat image on this stamp so that I can use them separately in the future.

The final touch was to add “Wink of Stella” Glitter Brush to the heart that is hanging from the cat’s tail. Sadly, the subtle shimmer is difficult to capture in a photo. Such a super CUTE card and fairly simple to create!

Country Bouquet Bundle meets Framed Florets Dies!

“Country Bouquet” Bundle meets “Framed Florets” Dies for Valentine’s Day! I decided to combine two completely different sets of products to create a Valentine’s Day card for my hubby. I wanted this card to definitely convey Valentine’s, but not be overly floral or feminine. Previously I had posted a card using the Country Bouquet bundle HERE.

Crumb Cake and Real Red along with Very Vanilla are the color palette for this card. I love how the small hearts are cut out in an oval shape with the “Framed Florets” Dies. The small hearts really “pop” once this is layered on to a Real Red card base. I stamped the large heart outline and several of the smaller hearts in Real Red on the larger Very Vanilla oval. Then, I stamped the large and small hearts in Real Red (on Vanilla) and punched them out with the “Country Bouquet” Punch.

For the “Happy Valentine’s Day banner, I used both the “Lovely Labels” and “Banners” Pick a Punch. I adorned the banner with a Real Red Rhinestone. The largest red heart is placed on dimensionals and I also added a double stranded bow of “Linen Thread”. “Wink of Stella Glitter Brush” was added to several of the “hearts” for a soft and subtle shimmer. This actually was a fairly simple card to create!
