This is my second creation with the Sending Smiles bundle. I saw a very similar card on another site, but can’t remember the creator to give them credit for the inspiration. The basic layout is the same, but I changed up the colors on the flowers. The Stylish Shapes dies were used to cut a window in the piece of DSP from the “Tea Boutique” Designer Series Paper.
Growing up and living most of my life in Maryland, I always loved Maryland’s state flower, the Black-eyed Susan. I used Mango Melody (stamped off, then “huffed” on) for the flower petals. The flower centers are stamped in Soft Suede so the flower resembles a Black-Eyed Susan. The remaining colors used are Sweet Sorbet and Garden Green. The greeting “A Note of Thanks” was also stamped with Sweet Sorbet, then die cut with the long rectangle from the “Sending” dies. A small white baker’s twine bow is behind the greeting panel. I then popped up the greeting on dimensionals and accented with an Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewel. A super simple and easy card!
Finally decided to begin working with another great bundle from the NEW Annual Catalog and I chose the “Sending Smiles Bundle”! Not only do I love the great variety of “word” greetings, but the die cuts are absolutely fabulous! This is my first creation with this stamp set and die bundle and I’m hooked!
For this card, I managed to incorporate all five of the NEW “In Colors”! These colors are wonderfully vibrant and fun colors, honestly, they are just so happy! Only a portion of the greeting was used on the outside, the “across the miles” is stamped on the inside of the card. I did use an adhesive sheet on the “Sending” die cut so that it was easy to adhere to the vellum “shadow” layer. One of the “Scalloped Contours” dies along with a “StitchedRectangle” die were used for the two main layers. I added “Wink of Stella” Glitter Brush to the flower centers and then a large “Brushed Brass Butterfly” completed this simple, but cute card!
