Happy New Year!

Here’s wishing everyone a very Happy New Year! 2021 was full of several changes for my husband and I with the most significant being our move from Maryland to Texas. Once we were settled in our new home, the holidays were upon us. Between the holidays and a few minor computer issues, I really got behind the 8-ball with posting to my website. Hopefully, in 2022 I will get myself back on track with regular postings!

Here was one of my two Christmas cards for this year. I used the Christmas Season bundle from the July-December Mini catalog and a patterned paper from the Painted Christmas DSP. The greeting came from the Encircled in Warmth stamp set. I also utilized the Pine Spray from the Wintry 3D embossing folders, a die from Hippo and Friends, Real Red Sheer Ribbon and for a touch of bling, a small strip of the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper from Stampin’ Up!’s previous SALE a-bration promotion.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Taking a few moments on this Thanksgiving to wish everyone a fabulous holiday with family and friends!

I’ve been MIA for several weeks as we have recently relocated to Texas! My husband was fortunate enough to retire in early October. We spent September getting our house packed and ready for the move. After more than 20+ years as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, my Craft Room needed a huge purge before packing everything up. What an undertaking that task was! We grossly under estimated the amount of “stuff” to load on the moving truck and had to rent a small enclosed trailer for the last household remnants. My hubby had the privilege of driving the moving truck, towing the trailer across county while I followed in the SUV. It was about 24 hours of driving, basically three days. Once we arrived at our new home in Texas, even more work was waiting for us. After unloading the moving truck (with some hired help), there was carpet to remove and painting to be done. We made great progress each day with the unpacking and thank goodness are are settled in as I type this post. Without a doubt, moving is EXHAUSTING!

I am hoping to be back on track with posting to my blog more regularly. I’m sharing a card that both of my clubs recently completed.

Words of Cheer holiday card
Holiday card featuring Words of Cheer bundle

This card features the Words of Cheer bundle, the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I looped some gold cord behind the focal image and used Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots in Gold for the flower centers. Stampin’ Blends were used to color the lovely floral spray. Simple card, but very stunning in person!

Delicate Dahlias meets Be Dazzling Specialty Paper!

Delicate Dahlias meets Be Dazzling Specialty Paper!

Life has been crazy! We just returned from our first trek to Texas with a utility trailer in tow and my hubby’s motorcycle on board. Three straight days of driving, about 24 hours. Good news, we’ve settled on our new house in Gatesville, Texas. Now to finish the packing, loading the truck and make the final drive to Texas! Moving sure is a LOT of work especially when you move yourself!

Before leaving for Texas, I had a few spare moments to play with a few items from the Sale-a-bration (SAB) catalog. For this creation, I chose the “Delicate Dahlias” stamp set (FREE SAB offering, p. 14) and the “Be Dazzling” Specialty Paper, also a FREE SAB item. The images in the Delicate Dahlias stamp set are absolutely beautiful! These images are designed to show awesome detail and are considered “Dist INK tive” imagery. I do believe, however, that my FAVORITE item in the SAB catalog is the “Be Dazzling” Specialty Paper (p. 3 of SAB catty), this specialty paper is AWESOME! I have decided with this paper, that a little goes a long way and chose to use just a small horizontal piece on my card. Ink colors for this card are Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Pear Pizzaz. The printed DSP is from the “Pattern Party” DSP which is a hostess offering. The small flower and leaves are cut out by hand and placed on dimensionals.

Hoping I can find more time this week to create a few cards to post over the next few weeks while we are making our transition to Texas.
