Also, I did want to let everyone know that my husband will be retiring soon and we are headed to Texas! I have been packing up the house and very importantly, my craft room. I do promise to find time next week to create more samples from the Holiday Mini, but I may not be posting as often the next several weeks. Our two most recent moves were local, so this one is a BIGGIE and we must be crazy, but we’re moving ourselves! Lots of work ahead of us!!!
Here is another fabulous card made with the Sending Hugs bundle! I went for a more monochromatic look with this card. I attached an adhesive sheet on the back of Thick Basic White card stock before die cutting the “Hugs” die. This die was then layered onto a Stitched Rectangle die in Highland Heather. For the HUGS letters, I attached a piece of Fresh Freesia In Color Shimmer Vellum (with an adhesive sheet) to a piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock before die cutting. The reason I used Gorgeous Grape was that the Fresh Freesia color has “pink tones” and I wanted it to be closer in color to Highland Heather. I used the “Zig Zag Stitched” die from the Basic Borders dies on the layer of Basic White card stock. The Hand-Penned DSP adds to the floral and vine theme of the card. The “On Your Special Day” greeting was stamped in Gorgeous Grape as the Highland Heather was too soft in color. The stitched rectangle is up on dimensionals and then the knotted bow of Highland Heather 1/2″ Grosgrain Ribbon adds a touch of shimmer and texture. I hope you can see the shimmer on the HUGS letters in my photo below!
Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum adds shimmer to the HUGS letters
This is my second card with the “Sending Hugs” bundle. My inspiration came from Mikaela at “The Crafty oINK Pen”. This sample utilizes the largest of the “Scallop Contour ” dies and one of the “Stitched Rectangle” dies along with the “Sending Hugs” bundle. The colors are Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo and Soft Succulent. First, I die cut the Stitched Rectangle in Crumb Cake. Before die cutting the Floral/Hugs die, I placed an adhesive sheet on the back of the Crumb Cake panel. I ran the Floral/Hugs die back and forth through my Cut and Emboss machine several times to make sure the die cut through the two layers completely. Also, I used a second die cut, lightly tacked down on white cardstock as a template for coloring with the Stampin Blends. Using the adhesive on the back made it easy to adhere both of the dies (floral/hugs and the outline of the die) to the white layer. The tiny label die was used for the “TO YOU” image. Just like I did on the previous card, I added Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to the Flirty Flamingo letters for some added shimmer. The white Crinkled Seam binding “double bow” and three of the small Calypso Coral Artistry Blooms sequins finish off the card beautifully! The photo below shows some of the awesome “shimmer” on the HUGS letters, just gorgeous!
