This is my second creation with the “Perched In A Tree” Bundle. I love nature sets and especially ones with birds! This bundle can be found in the July – December Mini Catalog on page 46. I haven’t water colored in quite some time, but did want the bird to have a soft appearance. My previous card only used the large oval die and a greeting, so this example shows several of the other dies in the “Aspen Tree” Dies set. Balmy Blue was my blue color of choice. For the background, I applied Balmy Blue ink with a “Blending Brush” for a soft and gentle shading. I used the “Stitched Rectangle” Dies along with the “Deckled Rectangle” Dies for the two mats.

For the spray of leaves, I stamped the “cluster” on water color paper in Crushed Curry and then a second time in Calypso Coral. I added the “dots splatter” in Cajun Craze and then used a “Water Painter” to blend the colors before die cutting. I added “Wink of Stella Glitter Brush” to the leaf cluster for a subtle shimmer. The tree branch is stamped in Soft Suede on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, then die cut. The bird was water colored with ink from my ink pads, die cut and placed on dimensionals. I struggle to create cards without at least a ribbon or twine. Surprising, I did not incorporate any ribbon or embellishments on this card but I absolutely love how pretty this card turned out!
