November was a crazy busy month, but I did find time to work with the “Reindeer Days” collection. For this particular card, the “Reindeer Days” DSP and the “Reindeer Fun” Dies did the majority of the heavy lifting. I believe I saw a very similar card on another blog that sparked my inspiration for this sample. My apologies to the original poster as I don’t remember where I viewed the post as it has been awhile.
The folded card base for this card is Real Red. The top “White” layer is thick white card stock. Thicker white card stock was used because of the intricate die that cut out the window. I stamped the greeting from the “Reindeer Fun” stamp set in Real Red. After die cutting the window, I used “Versamark” Ink to stamp the snowflake and dots around the top potion of the card. Then, I added “White Embossing” powder and heat set. After this step, I used a blending brush to add Pool Party ink on the upper portion of this panel. The ink “resists” the areas that were embossed in white. Basically, just wipe away any excess ink and the white areas “pop” out!
Behind this “open window” area, I placed a piece of DSP from the “Reindeer Days” DSP pack. Once I layered the pieces together, the card was complete. Honestly, this was a very simple card to create thanks to the DSP and dies that coordinate with this suite of products! I must say, a super cute and quite EASY card!
