This is my second creation with the Cottage Wreaths Bundle. You can see my first card with this bundle here. For this card, I chose Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Basic White for my color palette. I love the “DistINKtive” style stamp sets, which means the images have a lot of detail built into the stamp. You can find the Cottage Wreaths Bundle in the July-December Mini Catalog on p.59. I wanted the greeting to be larger than the greetings found in the stamp set, so I chose the “Merry & Bright” greeting from the Sweet Candy Canes stamp set.
To create the color and texture on the embossed Crumb Cake piece, I inked one side of the Timber 3D Embossing Folder with Crumb Cake ink. I placed the card stock between the embossing panels and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Basically, the ink is transferred to the card stock as it is embossed. This technique really gives the embossing depth and makes the texture more distinct.
I cut one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies in Crumb Cake and then stamped the greeting in Cherry Cobbler. The wreath was stamped in Garden Green on Basic White and then die cut with the coordinating wreath die. I placed dimensionals on the back of the wreath before adding it to the Crumb Cake panel. I added a layer of Cherry Cobbler behind the Stitched Rectangle and distressed the edges with my finger nail.
Honestly this was a super easy card with a few touches of detail. I colored the White Crinkled Seam Binding and Basic Rhinestones with a Cherry Cobbler Blends to change their color. Then I added Rhinestones to the wreath along with a double bow from the Crinkled Seam Binding. I am really loving how this card turned out!
First, my apologies for not posting last week. Totally consumed with preparations for a “Christmas Extravaganza” event held last Saturday! Our local elementary school sponsored this event. With being new to Gatesvillle, retired and not working, it has been difficult to get my name out in the community. Above is a peek of my table set up for the event. This was the first time I’ve participated in a “Vendor” type of event and I thought this would be a good way to get some local exposure. Overall, I learned from the event and it was a great experience!
A small display board was set up featuring “Kits” on one side. The other side of the board displayed Christmas cards. I handcrafted several items to sell at the event, “Nugget Trays”, “Candy Bar Sliders”, “Christmas Crackers”, “Gift Card Holders” and “Post-It Note Holders”. It was soooo much fun designing and creating these items and for the most part they were a hit! Most everyone gives “Gift Cards” these days. The “Candy Treats” make great stocking stuffers or even a small gift for a co-worker. I had a few leftover items but have plans to connect with those that could not make the event. The remaining items will probably be gifts for my family and friends.
Stop by later this week as I have several Christmas card creations to post in the next few weeks!
